The Pillow Topper is a distinctive feature of many models in the hospitality range and can also be added as an accessory to any mattress in the collection. It is secured to the mattress using the TopFit system, which connects the Pillow Topper flaps to the mattress border through the technical fabric positioned beneath the side handles. The result is a stable and secure attachment, with the topper seamlessly integrated into the Sleep System while remaining easy to remove for airing, maintenance or replacement.

The Pillow Topper is secured using the TopFit system: each mattress handling handle incorporates the receiving element of the system, while the Pillow Topper features flaps with complementary fastening elements that attach beneath each mattress handle. The result is a stable, discreet attachment that can be removed at any time for airing, maintenance or replacement.

A Fast and Stable Anchoring System
TopFit was developed in Dorelan’s research laboratories to provide a fast and stable system for securing the Pillow Topper to the mattress beneath. The project involved the development of a special technical fabric integrated into the mattress and engineered to interact with VELCRO® fastening elements. The collaboration between Dorelan and VELCRO® also extended to the validation phase, with specific tests carried out to assess durability, strength and long-term fastening performance.

RELIABILITY
The ability of TopFit to maintain a stable and reliable attachment even under the intensive conditions of use typical of hospitality
DURABILITY
The durability test simulated 5,000 complete opening and closing cycles, equivalent to one cycle a day for over 10 years of continuous use, in accordance with the EN 414 standard
STRENGTH
Resistance to lateral sliding, measured in accordance with the EN 13780 standard, reached 242 N, equivalent to about 25 kg of horizontally applied force, demonstrating the stability of the Pillow Topper fastening system
